Rue Arago is known locally as the Rue du Soleil, since it faces the sun all day in the sunniest area of France. (over 300 days a year!)

This apartment offers plenty of space for four or five. There is a large lounge, kitchen, bathroom and double bedroom (all on 2nd floor) and stairs to a quaint rooftop bedroom with two single beds. All newly equipped and decorated The large quiet terrace is not overlooked, and offers both shade and sun, with gas barbeque and dining area.

It is close to shops, restaurants and all amenities, with good bus, train and boat connections to local area and beaches. Collioure is 3km away. see "Region" for details.  There is a good direct overnight train from Paris every day each way. There is local parking near to the house, but once there you do not need a car.

Port Vendres is a bustling coastal town (see www.port-vendres.com) and the flat looks directly over the port with constant movement of fishing boats, ferries and pleasure craft. There is a lively programme of events, or just sit and watch the sun set over the mountains with a glass of local "Banyuls". There are excellent possibilities for diving, fishing, coastal and mountain walking, watersports and soaking up the local Catalan atmosphere. see "Events"

This apartment is not suitable for very small children (winding staircase) and animals are not allowed. Sheets and towels are available by arrangement. Internet access can be arranged

Location

Literally a stones throw from the port, Rue Arago overlooks the port and the town. Look for the church which is visible from anywhere in Port Vendres. The house is further along the same road.

Nearest train: Port Vendres Gare about 1km away. Regular trains to Perpignan, Montpellier, Carcassonne, Avignon, Paris etc

Nearest bus station: Port Vendres about 200m. Buses to local towns - Banyuls, Collioure, Elne, Perpignan

Nearest airport: Perpignan about 30km away.  Girona 1h 30mins

Shops - Boulangerie, butcher small supermarket, newsagent, wine merchant etc 200 m

Cafes and Restaurants.  Many local. Nearest 50m
